Chris Ellis – guitar‚ vocalsChris Ellis

Chris credits the KISS Alive II album for turning him
on to guitar as a pre–teen – a welcome departure from
Mary Had a Little Lamb and Jingle Bells‚ which his
first guitar teacher made him play.

He earned his chops as a teenager playing in several
bands‚ including an original ’80s metal band
that placed third out of 300 bands in the Vancouver Seeds
competition, plus a couple that he counts as "learning
experiences."

These days‚ Chris’ weapon of choice is a Gibson
Les Paul‚ and his influences include Ace‚ Nuno‚
Zakk‚ Slash‚ Rhoads‚ Jerry Cantrell‚ Thornley‚ Steve
Stevens‚ Mick Mars‚ Angus‚ Jimi H‚ Jimmy P‚ Vernon
Reid‚ Dave & Adrian‚ James & Kirk. But even if he
doesn’t sway towards an artist‚ he still appreciates
what they are doing.

If asked his age‚ Chris will tell you he is young enough
not to care‚ but old enough to know better. If he had
to name one reason for playing guitar‚ "it would be
playing live and having people forget about their lives
for a few hours‚ cut loose‚ dance‚ and have as much
fun as they possibly can for the night."
